::Baby G:: The Tests Are Positve!

I’m writing this now, April 26th, even though I won’t be able to post it on the blog for a while.

Teddy and I have been trying to get pregnant for about six months now. For those of you that know me, you know that I am quite the control freak and wanted to get pregnant in month one and have everything fall in line from there. Needless to say, God laughed in the face of my plan.

I’ve been charting my temperatures, using ovulation predictor kits, and taking prenatal vitamins now for six months and lo and behold---there is a BFP (big fat positive!). Yay!

This may be a little TMI for some of you but oh well---this is baby making in its finest. I think I may have conceived when the Heat lost big time to the Bulls. The game was going well, we almost won and then the Bulls tied the game in the last 20 seconds. The game went into overtime and the Heat lost by 10 points! –Are you kidding me?! To say I was upset is a huge understatement but if this little cupcake is the result of a little exercise to release my anger, then I’ll take a loss from the Heat any day.

The last week or so I can’t really say I had “symptoms” but I just had a feeling like I was pregnant. We went to my mom’s for dinner on Monday night to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday. We sat down for dinner and I was drinking a Coke, I looked over to my hubs and whispered “Hopefully this is the last Coke I will drink for a while”. Looks like I was right!

My period was supposed to start Tuesday or Wednesday. I usually do not even think about taking a pregnancy test unless I am late but I just had a feeling. I woke up Tuesday morning and was thinking should I take it, should I not, I didn’t want to get my hopes up. After much toiling in my mind, I decided to take it. I was in the bathroom waiting and waiting. Teddy asked me how it was going and came in the bathroom to check it out. The test was on the floor (we don’t have countertops in toilet room) and I was on my hands and knees eyeing that test like a crazy woman. I remember saying “I think I see a line, maybe I’m imagining it though”, Teddy came in and said “there is definitely a line”. The line got a little darker and was definitely there. It was faint but it was there for sure! We put the test on the bathroom counter and I just remember hugging Teddy like there was no tomorrow.

At lunch on Tuesday, I went to Target and bought two more boxes of tests, different brands of course, just to make sure.

I was still pretty skeptical at this point (that line was faint!). First thing I did when I got home was take test number 2---another, even fainter line. At this point I wasn’t 100% sure but I was getting closer---two faint lines are better than one.

Wednesday morning test number three which was a digital test and has the words on it. The test is supposed to take 3 minutes but I had the word Pregnant in about 20 seconds! I’m convinced now!!!

I have been pondering ways and when to tell my family. I want to make it so special as my mom has no idea we are trying and she has been begging me for years! I cannot wait to see her expression and excitement.

It is killing me that I have to wait a month to go to the doctor. I need confirmation people. I need to know that I am not just some crazy person that peed on a stick. I need to know this cupcake is sticking and along for the ride. I can say that I have faith and I have prayed more this last week than I have ever before. This is such a gift from God and I cannot wait to start this journey. I hope you will all join me for the ride!

::Fun:: Let's Go HEAT!

Most of you know I am a die hard Miami Heat fan. Monday night we got tickets (row 19---ahhh!) to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Celtics. Miami won and the game was so exciting. Worse part was driving home from Miami at 11pm, getting home at 2:30 in the morning and having to be at work at 8 the next day----miserable Tuesday but totally worth it!

Lebron!

Wade!

These late night games are wearing me out. Watching the Spurs and Thunder now, probably won't stay up the whole time.

Any basketball fans out there?!?!

...oh and GO HEAT!

::Family:: All Grown Up!

I have quite a big family, which I love most of the time (hehe), and my youngest sibling graduated high school! I cannot believe he is all grown up---it baffles me that someone born in 1993 is old enough to be out of high school! Yikes---I'm getting old!!

We went to the ceremony last weekend then went to a sushi\hibachi restaurant afterwards. Here are some pictures from the day:
All of us kids!

Grant graduating!

Congrats Grant---we are so proud!

::Sun:: Beach and Boat Time

Last weekend we went boating and went to Cayo Costa with my hubs and sister. It was a beautiful day, mostly. My sister and I met my husband at the ramp who had been fishing in the morning with his dad. We decided to go and anchor at Cayo Costa. It's a really gorgeous island only accessible by boat and has a great gulf view.

We had a little lunch and were just relaxing...
(this is how you eat macaroni salad from Publix withou a spoon---just use the lid)
:-)

My sister got some cute pictures of the hubs and I in the water...

After a few hours, my hubs turned around and the sky behind us was so dark. We decided to start packing up the boat to try and beat the rain. The minute we picked up the chairs the rain started pouring down. We all three huddled under the umbrella and waited the rain out---it was pretty hilarious!

(we are all about being silly!)

Hope you are having a great weekend!

::Hair:: My First Attempt @ Chalking

 If you have been on Pinterest for any length of time, you have probably seen hair chalking. I was instantly intrigued and thought it was a perfect way to change things up a bit. I went to Jo-Ann's and bought these soft pastels. All you need is chalk, hairspray, rubber gloves, and a water bottle. You'll need the gloves if you don't want your fingers stained.

My hair was already curled when I did the chalking so I took a few strands and sprayed them with a water bottle to get them pretty wet. I twisted the hair and took the chalk, rubbing it all over my hair until I got the desired color saturation, I only did the ends as I like that look. When first applied, it looks darker than it will end up since the chalk is wet.

I took a blow dryer to it to get it mostly dry and then I lightly combed through it. Chalk went every where at this point, beware! Once it was semi-combed through, I curled it and sprayed it to keep the color from going on everything. I wasn't going out anywhere and I was just playing with this to see how it works. T colors came out so vibrant. I can't wait to try this for a night out!

Final look:

Have you guys tried it?? Good news---tomorrow is FRIDAY!

::Fun:: Line Dancing

You read that correctly---Line Dancing! A new club/bar opened in town about 8 months ago and they play mostly Country Music, their focus is Line Dancing. I have been dying to go but haven't really had the chance so a couple weeks ago, we finally made it.

My sister and her friends go pretty regularly, so they were able to meet before we went to teach me a couple awesome dances. Everyone pretty much wears boots and shorts so of course I followed suit. Here are some pictures from the night.

This was such a good time that we are planning on going again soon. Any line dancers out there?? Trust me, it's way more fun than it sounds.
