::Baby G Take 2:: Week 13

How far along? 13 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 2 lbs. (Haven't checked from last doctors appt but I go on the 8th so I'll find out soon)

Maternity clothes? Yep! I am still able to wear non-maternity shirts but sometimes they don't hide the elastic waistband all that well.

Stretch marks? Not yet! I haven't started applying lotion but think I need to start. I got them last time towards the end and didn't even realize it until she was out. But I have a new brand of lotion that will hopefully help this time around.

Symptoms: This week was pretty good. I had a few minor bouts of heartburn and nausea but nothing too bad. My breasts are hurting for the first time this pregnancy which is a little strange since that is typically a first sign of pregnancy. I have had some minor back pain also.

Sleep: Getting better. I got a Snoogle pillow last weekend and it has helped with the back pain during the night. I used this pillow with Henley and it's seriously amazing!

Best moment this week: Not pregnancy related but Henley has been saying sentences this week and it's so exciting!

Have you told family and friends: Yes everyone knows.

Miss anything? I've missed the ability to drink something other than water and milk!

Movement: Nothing yet.

Food cravings: I craved some tuna casserole and hubs made a pretty good recipe of it. Just like last pregnancy I am loving baking.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing specifically.

Have you started to show yet: Yes

Gender: I'm guessing girl. I made an appointment for a gender ultrasound for Sept 13th, I'll be 15 weeks. I cannot wait to find out!

Labor Signs: None.

Belly Button in or out? In but still stretched from last time.

Wedding Rings On or Off? On

Happy or Moody: Happy but a little stressed this week about Henley's sleeping habits (or lack there of) but it's getting better!

Exercise: None this week. :-(

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender and being able to start the nursery!

::Baby G Take 2:: Week 12

How far along? 12 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 2 lbs. (Haven't checked from last week)

Maternity clothes? Yep!

Stretch marks? Not yet! I haven't started applying lotion but think I need to start

Symptoms: Heart burn is back. I am so sad about this. I really thought it wouldn't start until later. I also had a migraine this week, hoping this isn't a "thing" with this pregnancy. I was super lucky with Henley and didn't get any with her.

Sleep: Pretty good although Henley has been having troubles and not falling asleep on her own. Once she's out she's usually ok, it's just getting there.

Best moment this week: Spending time with Henley in the pool, also seeing her talk to my belly. I'm not really sure how much she understands but either way it's cute!

Have you told family and friends: Yes everyone knows.

Miss anything? I started to miss sushi this week but hubs and I had an awesome lunch date of Friday and I ate some cooked rolls and gyoza (my fave!)

Movement: Nothing yet.

Food cravings: This week I didn't really have any specific cravings other than sushi.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing specifically

Have you started to show yet: Yes this bump is out of control on the growth!

Gender: I'm guessing girl. Find out hopefully in 8 weeks

Labor Signs: None.

Belly Button in or out? In but still stretched from last time.

Wedding Rings On or Off? On

Happy or Moody: Happy the majority of the time

Exercise: None this week. Ugh I need to do something!

Looking forward to: End of the first trimester. Cannot wait to enter the glorious second trimester, minimal sickness but not too big and uncomfortable.

::Baby G Take 2:: Week 11

I"m making a pledge to do my best to keep up with these pictures and blog posts. I love looking back and reading Henley's and I know I will regret it if I don't. With that being said, let's jump right in with my first pregnancy update for Baby G #2!

How far along? 11 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 2 lbs.  (yes already!)

Maternity clothes? Yep! This time around I am much less interested in squeezing in my normal clothes. I caved at 9 weeks and started wearing maternity pants. Maybe it's because I now know how amazingly comfortable they are!

Stretch marks? Not yet! Last time I never realized I had them on my belly until Henley was out.

Symptoms: Majority of the nausea is gone, I've just had a few waves of it here and there. I'm still pretty exhausted by the end of the day and I am peeing a TON! I forgot how often pregnant women pee!

Sleep: SO good. Henley has been sleeping through the night for about two months and I'm actually (finally) sleeping too!

Best moment this week: Seeing the baby on the ultrasound on Monday. We went to the doctor for our New OB appointment. This is the appointment we discuss payment plans, all of out decisions regarding the baby and delivery, and do all of the bloodwork. We also had an ultrasound and the baby was moving! This was our second ultrasound----nothing better than seeing the baby is ok!

Have you told family and friends: Yes everyone knows. It's been impossible not to tell with this belly!

Miss anything? Not yet, too early to really miss anything.

Movement: Nothing yet.

Food cravings: Tons---Southern comfort food, Mashed Potatoes

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing specifically

Have you started to show yet: Yes its crazy how different my bump is this time around. It's like my body is saying---no worries! I got this.

Gender: I'm guessing girl. The heartbeat is very similar to what Henley's was. I know that's a wivestale but that's all I have to go off on at the moment.

Labor Signs: None.

Belly Button in or out? In but still stretched from last time.

Wedding Rings On or Off? On

Happy or Moody: Happy the majority of the time

Exercise: None this week. I've been wanting to get back into something light a few times a week. I need to just do it!

Looking forward to: End of the first trimester. Cannot wait to enter the glorious second trimester, minimal sickness but not too big and uncomfortable.

Have a great weekend all and can't wait to share this journey with you all again!

::Baby G Take 2:: Here we go again!

Well, here we are again! Baby G take two. We started trying in June and are blessed to say we got pregnant in the first month! I took a test June 28th and it is definitely positive. I am so, so excited and nervous all at the same time.

Henley will be 3 months past her 2 year birthday when I am due. I know she will be an amazing big sister, I'm just so anxious about how this all will work. How will she handle it? How will I handle it?

I've seen the doctor twice and everything looks great so far! Due date is 03/07/14. Hope you are ready for tons of baby updates (praying I have time to keep up with it!!)

::Love Mere:: Office Organization

Craft rooms---these rooms have a reputation for being messy, clutters, and overall chaotic. Mine was no exception. It's almost impossible to keep a room clean when you are making things and throw in a child and a full-time job and it's virtually impossible....until now!

My husband and I have finally got this room to be perfectly organized, I actually have a place for everything. It's so much cleaner and nicer to be in. I actually can move around without stepping on fabric and the space overall has a better vibe. I just wanted to share some pictures from the office where I spend every night after Henley goes to bed doing my second job that I love, filling orders and making things people love :-)

Hanging Ironing board saves so much space

These organization cubes are Threshold Brand from Target along with the bins---complete lifesavers!

Artwork I've made
I organized ribbons and barrettes in glass jars. The barrettes were organized by color but undoing this is one of Henley's favorite things to do
Ikea Galant Desk with my Silhouette Cameo, Sewing Machine, and Serger.

By far my favorite. Hubs built this for me and it seriously saves me so much time! I love that everything is right there for me to grab at any time. I found a pin here for a very similar board and just altered it to fit my sewing needs.

Embroidery Machine

Hubs desk, also Ikea Galant

Now I can devote all of my time making things for the cutest little ladies and gents.

Do any of you have any craft organization tips to share?? Please do!

::Henley:: 18 Months!

Seriously where has the time gone. This little maniac is growing more and more every.single.day! I'm a little late with this post but I have got to update her growth and change over the last six months. Henley turned 18 months old on June 18th. She is only six short months from being two!! When they say time flies, they aren't lying.

When Henley was smaller, I relished in every detail and loved every little thing she did. I thought I couldn't love her more----I was wrong! Now that she is mobile and chatting and interacting with us every minute, I love her even more. I love seeing her grow and change. I love seeing her personality come out and I love love love seeing how much she loves her Dada.

Ok time for the update:

Weight:

We went to the doctor last week for her 18-month check up and she is 24 lbs 6 oz (52nd percentile) and 32.5 inches tall (74th percentile). She has gotten much taller in the last month or so. I am noticing all of her 18 month dresses are now showing her diaper. I still can't tell who's body type she is going to have (although Grandma says her little butt is similar to mine when I was little).

Health:

I hate typing this because inevitably, something will come up but for the last 2 months or so, we have been relatively healthy in the G Household. Mom and Dad had a horrendous stomach bug that Henley luckily avoiding----we are assuming she was the carrier though as the Day Care had a huge outbreak of the stomach bug as well.

There is a light at the end of this teething tunnel we have been on for the last 7 months. I guess I should be grateful that she didn't get any teeth for 11 months. The bottom two molars cut this last week and all we are waiting for are the 4 eye teeth, although I have heard those are the worse!

Look at all of those chompers!

Sleep:

Oh sleep, how I hate and love you all at the same time! Henley just doesn't like to sleep. That is the conclusion I have come up with. Girlfriend likes to be up at 5am and wakes at least once a night. She goes down during the night fine. Usually I can go in there, tell her it's "nite nite" time and she lays back down without struggle. Sometimes she asks for milk and I'll give her a few sips but most of the time, it is uneventful. 5am wakeup is a different story. I try telling her it's still "nite nite" time but she's not buying it. She will come in our bed for an hour or so but by 6:30am, she is ready to get up and get the day going. I am going to keep trying but I really think she just wakes up at 5am naturally. Ugh!

Clothing:

Henley is wearing mostly 18 month clothing, some 24 month. I have very little 24 month clothing so I need to start stalking some sales to get a stash. I do have a bag of clothing from a friend that I am grateful for but from now on, we are going to have to be purchasing new sizes as she grows. I do have some pretty cute outfits for her now though...

Diet:

Henley eats! Girlfriend isn't afraid of food and almost always asks for more. Her report from day care almost always says (x's 2) especially for fruit. She eats a cantaloupe a week, loves watermelon and bananas. I make a black bean hummus and she loves it. She will dip her chip in the hummus, suck it off and dip again. Obviously she's not concerned about double dipping.

Baby Gear Love:

We aren't really using too much gear these days. Henley has some toys she loves but for the most part, she is obsessed with anything crafting. She loves to paint, color, and play with playdoh. She is also outside a ton and loves the pool. She is getting so brave in the pool, almost too brave. We are definitely keeping the pool gate up for a long time. She is currently taking a kickboard and jumping into the pool from the steps. I let her go under so she realizes there is no step there and she couldn't care. She's immediately back on the step, ready to jump again. Here are some pictures of her playing with her favorites.

Crying:

She only cries in the mornings at 5am when I am refusing to get her out of bed. She's a really happy toddler and for that I am grateful!

Social:

Henley is super social. She plays every day with our neighbor's kids, Ayden and Asher. For a while we were always outside but due to the insane heat and rain, we end up inside some days.
Henley showing the boys who is boss!

They were inspecting/tormenting a bug they found

She took swim lessons last month and did awesome! She can go under and grab the wall and hang on to the wall and crawl to the stairs. She loves to lay back and float too!

Went to the beach a few times

Celebrated Mom and Dad's Birthdays, Mother's Day, and Father's Day!

Milestones:

Henley is talking up a storm. She has to say at least 50 words. At her appointment last week, the doctor said they look to make sure the babies at this age say at least six words. In that same appointment, Henley said "applesauce" which he said counted for three words and he definitely isn't concerned. Here is a video of her reading a book and making her animal sounds.

Henley is also getting really good at eating off of a spoon or fork with minimal mess.

These last 18 months have been amazing! I cannot wait to see what more is to come. I am going to try to be better about posting as I love having this to look back on. After posting this I realize there is so much I have missed posting!!

::Life:: 2014 Updates

April 15th---tax date. (I'm a CPA but not in tax so this date really means little to me)...point is that it's April 15th, 2014 and this is the first real post of the year! Where has this year gone. Henley is almost 16 months old and is a sassy, funny little toddler. The baby is gone! ::insert big mama tears here::  She is so fun and seriously the best ever. Each day gets better and better. I want to attempt to get back on par with this as I really enjoy looking back on things that happened.

So time for some updates!!!

Henley -

  • Almost 16 months old
  • Walking, Talking, Running
  • Loves being outside all.day.long
  • Loves painting and coloring (creative like mama)
  • Left-handed
  • Eats a ton!
  • Loves fruit, has 2nd's and 3rd's of fruits with almost every meal
  • Tries lots of new food (fish, hummus, queso dip)
  • Says tons of words: mama, dada, dog, bubble, bird, butterfly, banana, dirty, Ella, bath, out, down, bad, no no, not nice, ma, shoes, fish, Minnie/Mickey Mouse (that's all I got for now)

Life -
  • My Etsy shop is growing more and more every day, I still am hanging on to a hope that I can do this full-time somewhere in the near future
  • The house is great. We are totally in and just need a few more decorations on the walls. I'll post a blog post of pictures for that soon.
  • We took our first vacation as a family to Disney World last month and it was one of the best moments in my life!
  • We just started swim lessons last week with Henley. The class is 7 weeks and I can't wait to see how she does!

I can't wait to post all of the pictures of things we've done lately! Henley is so fun and between not wanting to miss out on time with her and my Etsy shop (plus my full-time job) I have been so busy. I am going to attempt to better organize my time and plan out my days so hopefully I will have some time to keep this updated.

Have a great week!!

Mere :-)
